physic readings demonic?
One of my very good friends saw a physic and was extremely impressed with her results. Because of how astonished and excited she was about, she wants to take me for my birthday coming up. Im a little bit hesitant, however, being a Christian it seems out of character for me. Ive also been warned about demonic possession, etc, through ways of physics and that scares me. In a way, I want to try it but I am scared. What do you think?
you can be possessed at any moment of the day, so dont worry about that. psychics are not workers of the devil, they are different. its the same thing with racism, we hate and fear what we dont know. so open your mind, god has no problem with you wanting to check things out and broaden your views on the world, just if you take in the inherently evil things in this life. also how do you think some actually communicate with the meta-tron (voice of god)? its not just be talking. we are all psychically sensitive, just in different measurements. go try it out, if its not for you then it ok. god will not hate you for it, and if you feel it was a bad idea and some evil may come of it. the lord always forgives the sinner, but not the sin, remember that. you will be ok.

It is not demonic. If you go, don’t rely on everything they say though, because it’s usually really generalized to make you think that they’re psychic when usually it’s just for entertainment and money-making purposes.

Physic’s are all crap. If someone was truly gifted that way they would have such wealth and power. But they don’t. They use mentalism tricks to abstract info from unwitting people. Sad really.

There’s no such thing as psychic abilities. On the other hand, there’s also no such thing as God but you’re gullible enough to believe in that. It’s usually best for extremely gullible people to stick to only one delusion at a time, so if I were you I’d stay away from psychics, or run the risk of some severe brain cramp injuries.

Physics shouldn’t be a problem. I don’t think E=mc2 (I don’t know how to do superscript in yahoo) is demonic. Now Economics could be a problem. There is "no free lunch" is definitely non-Christian

You’re asking a sticky question. If you are Christian and you believe a psychic reading is wrong, then you shouldn’t do it.
If you want my opinion and beliefs, there’s nothing wrong with visiting a psychic it at all – it’s just for fun. Demonic possession doesn’t exist. I’m not a Christian though, so my opinion may not be what you’re looking for.

It is definitely demonic. If you want to read about seances and how demons are behind it, read the book "A Trip Into the Supernatural" by Roger Morneau (you can get it at Amazon.com).
This book is a true story and in the book Morneau tells of his involvement in demon worship and how he witnessed seances where demons mimiced exactly the voices of people he was familiar with. One demon mimiced exactly the Prime Minister of Canada’s voice – and the Prime Minister was alive at the time.
Read the book and stay away from Psychics and anything dealing with the occult.

It won’t hurt you. Remember with readings they are to be used a guidelines. If someone sees something you don’t like you can change it by altering the actions you were normally take.
Of course i am a pagan and a witch (maybe i shouldn’t be suffered to live like the quote another answerer put in) and it doesn’t have any conflicts with my beliefs.

Does it make sense to you that if it’s not of God and it’s supernatural then demons, who wander about and would have inside info on people and the spiritual world, could be speaking to these Psychics? It does to me and I would stay away.

No, you do not have to go. I have done many readings and ask the Divine to guide me, but if you have fear don’t go. This may not be the path for you. If you want to go, then go, but pray to God that what ever it is, you take with a grain of salt. Not all psychics are true. There is always a way. But, I get the feeling that you really don’t need to go there. So, take my advice…stick with your guns, and don’t go. I get the feeling of something, not bad, but discouraging is headed your way. Just ask God to protect you. He will.
And as for the remark about "suffer not a witch to live" If you were to take and look at the original Greek and Hebrew that the scriptures were taken, it was actually called Poisoner, not witch. Because I am one. And I use my skills to help and heal others. I pray no harm on anyone. I have learned my lessons early. I use my knowledge to help others.

OK i am a psychic medium .. i am an honest person and very spiritual
now psychics aren’t possessed by the devil or anything .. what they do is tap into your auric field which is the energy that surrounds you .. everyone has one and that has been scientifically proven
from this if they are sensitive enough they can read it like a book of your life so to speak .. past present, fears , hopes , desires, illness etc
they cannot read the future and cannot communicate with spirit
a medium can communicate with spirit , these spirits are loving and messages can be passed on to those grieving simply to say .. death is not the end ..
i don’t know of any mediums who have been possessed or got anything negative or evil coming through and i cant fathom why god would allow spirit to communicate if it was in any way bad ..
i also cant fathom why the devil would send demons to do this work which ultimately leads people to a further closer relationship with god

*rolls eyes. Psychic readings are not demonic, however beware of the "psychics" you deal with because unfortunately the majority of them out there charging for services are fakes. Very convincing fakes, but fakes none-the-less. Those with the true gift of the Sight are not likely to advertise and put themselves and their gifts out there to be attacked and ridiculed by the general public, as we have seen in some of the answers here.

God speaks to us in many ways. The church acts like God spoke to every other shepherd and goat herder in the old days, but for some reason he is no longer interested in talking to us.
You need to ask our self how likely is this?
Go if you want, if what you hear sounds like it is from a loving source know that it is from God given to you through someone who has a gift for these things. If it is fear based know that you are listening to a fraud who is only interested in taking your money. Either way you are safe.
Don’t believe the religious nonsense about demons. This is foolishness concocted to scare small children into doing what he people who tell these kinds of lies want.
You are no longer a child and have nothing to fear from these silly lies.

There is a part of each Christian that is not open to psychics and depending on that seers type of make-up determines what they add-lib in to its place. Most of them use anger as their familiar and are thus only open to those vibes. Its a good thing your scared, your no longer a member of the anger crowd, the Best way for you to witness, would be to not go, because by going your participation will be used against you. Not that it would hurt you, but that it will allow anger to keep a foothold in other peoples lives.

It’s not demonic. It’s more like "parlor games". Readings can be given that are just broad enough to encompass a lot of things, and most people can see "something" in them. It’s kinda like reading your horoscope in the newspaper only more "personal".
I’m not saying psychic powers don’t exist, but people who actually have them are few and far between. And certainly not everyone who claims to have the power actually does.
However, even true psychic ability doesn’t equal devil worship or even witchcraft. It’s just the ability to "see the future", which is not really against Christianity. But you don’t have to worry, you won’t be possessed by demons if you get a reading. Just don’t take it too seriously though. It’s a game and should be viewed as such.

The bible states in leviticus or exodus that all people who seek advice from a medium should be put to death for they have consulted a sorceror.
He also destroyed one of his most loyal followers for seeking a mediums advice.
My advice, DONT DO IT!. Leave the Occult to the Occultists.
